The Wall by Marlen Haushofer. I bought this book purposely because it sounded a bit similar to a book I really liked last year.

The Wall follows this woman, once again older female character who is vacationing in the mountains, and one day she realizes that she is stuck behind an invisible wall and she has to survive on her own.

Behind that wall her only company is a cow, a cat and a dog, hence the cover of the book.

I think it's going to be a very character driven and maybe more like speculative fiction sci-fi read. I'm really hoping that this will be one of my favorites.

Mind of My Mind by Octavia E. Butler is an adult sci-fi book. Butler is one of my favorite authors and this is the last series that I have yet to read by her.

This book is weird, straight up weird, all of her books are sci-fi but like a sub genre that's different. It follows people with superpowers and it's a bit of a stretch, which made me have a love and hate feeling towards it. I don't know how she does it, she's so good at making me and everyone else very uncomfortable with her books, but it somehow works.

You will need to push through if you're reading this one, and if this is your first book by her, please don't do that. This book is divided into three parts and by the third part I was sold, but if this was my first book by her, I would have never read anything else by her just saying.

The book has a lot of really tough and weird scenes, so please be warned.
